About Milwaukee Women’s Center
Close to the Milwaukee Public Museum, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, you’ll find a free addiction clinic called the Community Advocates’ Milwaukee Women’s Center. Their program for women who are in recovery from substance use and mental health disorders is called POWER.
They work with all women, including those who are pregnant, to achieve a drug and alcohol free life. They help them recover from domestic violence and trauma. The first step is to resolve crisis situations. After that, they work on long term recovery.
Treatment teams include doctors and other medical professionals. Depending on the needs, social services, and childcare professionals are available. Substance use counselors give them tools to understand addiction and overcome it.
Free transport and childcare are provided to make it easier for women to get the most out of each meeting. All plans are individual, and consider each woman's strengths. They continue providing care for all areas of life until it’s no longer needed. Both English and Spanish speakers are welcome.
