The Centers for Independence has multiple programs that benefit residents in the Milwaukee area. They have behavioral health treatment that includes supportive case management and housing services, as well as employment services such as skill development, job placement, and coaching for those with barriers to work. Centers for Independence is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).
Peer-Run Respites
Wisconsin has several peer-run respites throughout the state that provide support, encouragement, and an overnight stay to those experiencing stress or symptoms from mental health or substance use concerns. Each center has peer recovery specialists that can help visitors stabilize and work through their concerns.
