About ARC Community Services, Inc.

ARC is a nonprofit agency that specializes in women’s care in Wisconsin. They provide substance use treatment, services for pregnant women or those with young children as well as women involved in the criminal justice system. They also offer trauma-informed recovery services for survivors of prostitution and human trafficking.

Their Milwaukee Women’s Program is a residential drug rehab facility in MIlwaukee. It’s been in operation since 2014 and is located in a nondescript suburban neighbourhood. Women get a homelike environment that fosters their dignity and avoids retriggering trauma.

ARC’s Milwaukee Women’s Program accommodates 13 women who need substance use disorder treatment. This program provides them with a safe, supportive environment to get community corrections and drug and alcohol programming. Clients need to be at least 18 years old and be referred by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

I like that this program is completely free to program participants. It’s funded primarily from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
