Getting in for Day Treatment
Your intake meeting will be conducted by a certified substance abuse counselor. You must test negative for tuberculosis and obtain a written statement saying you don’t have a communicable disease.
Clients start their day with breakfast followed by meditation. You’ll practice day-to-day living skills such as cleaning and cooking. You’ll always have a private session with a therapist.
After lunch, there’s some free time. They have board games and books as well as television. Everyone will then have group therapy and participate in other group activities.
Winding Down
What I like most about this place is the Friday afternoon recreational activities. Clients might go for a hike or camp out. They often take everyone bowling or screen a movie.
I also like the aftercare they offer. They have a meeting on Wednesday nights for graduates of the program where they can discuss the challenges of life in the real world.
