HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital

HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, closed in Spring 2024. It used to provide inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health treatment to clients of all ages, including those who were deaf or hard of hearing.

Medicare and Medicaid were accepted, along with other state-financed and private health plans. Self-pay was also an option, with financial assistance available to eligible individuals.

While it’s unfortunate that this location has since closed, the organization still has several other facilities still in operation just a few hours’ drive away.

As for what was once provided here, I noticed clients could access 24-hour inpatient care, including psychiatric support and dual diagnosis treatment that addressed both mental health disorders and substance abuse issues.

Screening and medically assisted services include nicotine replacement initiatives, along with the use of psychotropic and antipsychotic medications.

Holistic & Therapeutic Support

Along with medically assisted support, therapeutic treatment services were also provided, including activity therapy. Sessions were provided on an individual and group basis, with options also available for couples and families.

Additionally, I noticed case management services were available, which helped individuals access support for educational services or suicide prevention.
