About Mariners Inn

Mariners Inn is a nonprofit addiction treatment program and homeless shelter for men in Detroit, Michigan. It's a program that combines evidence based treatment methods with a large number of social support services. Treatment includes residential and general outpatient services. Co-occurring disorder care is also available.

A lack of housing is a major barrier to addiction treatment. Mariners Inn provides recovery and transitional housing in conjunction with their substance abuse treatment programs. Recovery housing is also available to those who have previously completed a residential treatment program. These houses offer different levels of support and independence based on your needs, so you'll always be making progress regardless of where you currently are in recovery.

An aspect of the Mariners Inn program I like is its expressive art therapy options. These programs focus on honing and using creativity to develop new skills. Art therapies can improve confidence and reduce negativity, so they're a powerful tool to have in recovery.
