Lad Lake Inc

Lad Lake is the emergency room of the child welfare system. They work with Wisconsin's most in-need youth. One of their campuses is in Dousman where they work to give youngsters safety, stability and self-reliance. Their clients have suffered multiple traumas which are addressed together for real healing.

They work with youth who’ve experienced crises in various settings, including in their homes, through inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) services. On their campus, they help youth with mental health issues, truancy, have a history of family issues, have a family member in prison, have committed minor offenses or are using substances.

Children and youth will have a psychiatric evaluation that works to understand the full scope of their needs. They’ll have a counselor assigned to work with them on a custom treatment plan. Many youth with troubled histories turn to substance use. Lad Lake works with them to help them live drug and alcohol-dree lives.

Youth have access to therapists, teachers, medical staff, psychologists and spiritual leaders to break the cycle of addiction. I like that they offer an integrated family approach so that the youth have the support at home they need to recover.

Treatment can happen at home or in residence. If residential treatment is necessary, they’ll get a personalized education plan and attend school onsite. There are also optional spirituality support groups for youth who choose that path.

Lad Lake also gives clients case management services. This wraparound support ensures that youth have their needs met in all areas of their lives and works with them to overcome roadblocks to recovery.

Specially trained counselors will provide one-on-one therapy that is trauma informed. They’ll offer compassionate and necessary counseling to help youth process their situation and learn how to move forward without the use of substances.
