About Innovative Counseling INC

Innovative Counseling is an outpatient mental health clinic located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This facility treats a wide array of needs including substance use disorders (SUD). The center also offers support with treating trauma and even has an option for in-home psychotherapy if needed. They accept Medicaid.

Outpatient Mental Health

For people that have already achieved sobriety, outpatient mental health care for substance abuse can be a great way to get the help you need, while still being employed or near your social network. I like that this facility offers a wide range of techniques and creates customized plans. Depending on your needs, this can include behavior therapy, cognitive therapy, and even biofeedback, along with dual diagnosis care.

Understanding Triggers

A major factor for many people battling addiction is addressing the underlying issues that might have contributed to substance abuse. I appreciate that Innovative Counseling also works to treat surrounding causes such as post traumatic stress, depression, anxiety and relationship strains. The overall goal through treatment is to help people achieve better well being.

In-Home Psychotherapy

Something I found that was somewhat unique compared to other SUD service providers was that Innovative Counseling provides in-home treatments, although this is usually reserved for children and families. However, a core focus does include familial relationships, which can be a contributing factor to addiction or a source of support during recovery.

Trauma Informed Care

Another important consideration is trauma informed care. This means that any treatments or therapy provided needs to be done while understanding how underlying traumas might impact a person’s receptiveness or create triggers during treatment. This is a key tenet at Innovative Counseling. The staff are also involved with Brown County United Way: Child Abuse & Neglect Tools and Trainings Task force which works to educate and provide a safe environment for healing.
