About Greater New Orleans Adult & Teen Challenge

Adult & Teen Challenge is a substance recovery program with over 1000 residential locations worldwide. New Orleans, Louisiana is home to the Greater New Orleans Adult & Teen Challenge chapter. They offer faith based residential programs that are either short or long term. The goal of treatment is to help you achieve stability in all areas of your life. They charge a small induction fee per resident. There are no other fees.

The New Orleans location is a men’s only facility that offers 12-month or 90-day stays. Their year-long program gives residents enough time to get used to a sober lifestyle before they rejoin society. Their 90-day program is for people who aren’t sure if this program is for them. After the 90 days, you can decide if you want to continue.

They do not allow methadone or any other medication. You should detox before coming to the clinic unless you want to go cold turkey. Residential treatment at this clinic will include individual and group counseling, drug and addiction education, study of the Bible and teachings of Jesus Christ, and wholesome recreational and social activities.

I like that this program provides vocational training onsite during months nine through 12 of your program. This will help you get real world job skills to prepare you for your career. You won’t earn money during this training period, but it will help you develop desirable skills.
