About CrescentCare

CrescentCare is a nonprofit addiction treatment and community health center in New Orleans, Louisiana offering integrated outpatient substance use care and medication assisted treatment with harm reduction services.

Its whole person mission emphasizes evidence based and trauma informed recovery support which I noted serves marginalized and medically complex populations.

RecoveryWorks With Art and Music Therapy

Treatment often begins with a behavioral health screening and intake available as walk-in appointments on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.

From there clients may enter RecoveryWorks, CrescentCare's intensive outpatient program designed to provide structured support while patients continue daily life.

RecoveryWorks combines counseling, education, and medication assisted treatment with Suboxone or Vivitrol for opioid use disorder.

Clients also access trauma resolution, art and music, yoga, meditation, and aftercare planning which I believe creates a holistic path toward sustained sobriety.

Private Rooms

In order to maintain a sense of autonomy, many private rehab facilities offer clients the ability to choose their own private rooms. The privacy and personal space ensure that the recovery process is as comfortable as possible.

Residential Setting

Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Residential drug rehabs are often the preferred method of treatment, as they can be tailored to meet specific needs, offer focused therapeutic care, and provide the necessary tools to sustain recovery.

Gym

When paired with cognitive-behavioral therapy, exercise can be an effective tool for overcoming addiction. Drug rehabs with a gym offer clients healthy ways to increase energy levels, balance the body’s stress hormone levels, and aid in the brain’s healing process.

WiFi

Some rehab programs offer free Wi-Fi to guests who have full access to their smartphone devices or laptop computers during treatment. While access to these devices may be allowed, the time spent using them is often regulated or restricted so clients can focus on treatment.

Detox & MAT

Detox in Louisiana rids your body of addictive substances. Over a period of about a week, you’ll receive 24/7 care to slowly and safely cleanse your body. This often includes receiving medication to alleviate withdrawal symptoms.

Inpatient Rehab

Residential or inpatient rehab in Louisiana is the most intensive level of care. It involves living at the rehab facility and receiving 24/7 supervised care. Treatment interventions usually include individual and group therapy, nutritional counseling, experiential therapies, and medication.

Outpatient Rehab

A typical Louisiana outpatient rehab offers a less-intensive treatment option. It is a good fit for those who have a moderate addiction and need accountability and ongoing relapse prevention support. Treatment includes therapy and support groups, and may continue to weeks or months, based on the individual’s needs.

Payment Options

Private Insurance

If you have private insurance, your coverage can help with the costs of addiction treatment. Your policy determines how much is covered, but you may be left with certain costs (copayments or co-insurance).. Check with your insurer for more information.

Self-Pay Options

You have the option to directly pay for alcohol and drug rehab in Louisiana, known as self-pay or private pay. People who are uninsured or have an insurance plan that doesn’t cover certain specialized rehab programs often rely on self-pay options like cash or credit cards.

Sliding Scale Payment

If you're unable to pay the full cost of addiction treatment, a sliding scale payment plan may be a good solution. By calculating your current income and financial assets, providers are able to come up with a payment plan that is affordable and doesn’t create a burden. To qualify for this treatment discount, you must complete an application and provide supporting financial documentation.

Medicaid Accepted

If you're struggling to pay for rehab, you may be eligible for Louisiana Medicaid (known as Healthy Louisiana). The coverage amount varies, but it can help with the cost of addiction treatment, including all levels of care, such as detox, inpatient rehab, and more.

Medicare Accepted

If you have Louisiana Medicare, you may have coverage options available that will cover some or all of the costs of alcohol or drug rehab in Louisiana. The amount of coverage will depend on many things, including whether you are seeking inpatient or outpatient treatment for substance abuse.
