About Footprints Wayne D. White Recovery Community Center

The Wayne D. WHite Recovery Center is part of the Footprints network. It’s located in Kansas City, Missouri. They’re an outpatient facility offering adults long term recovery from a substance use disorder. This organization runs on donations from individuals and organizations.

What immediately stands out to me is their expanded hours. With expanded hours they are able to provide services seven days a week with morning, evening, and weekend hours. Their 12 Step programs are available seven days a week as well. They offer a home-like atmosphere with coffee, tea, comfortable couches and chairs.

The outpatient program offers counseling and education from certified peer specialists and qualified addiction counselors. The program begins with an educational component. You will attend 8 classes that focus on the basics of recovery. The classes have morning hours two days a week and evening hours two days a week.

Once you complete the classes, you will continue to group therapy. You’ll attend a 10 week process group. The process groups also have morning and evening hours twice a week.

While you attend classes and groups, you’ll meet individually with a counselor or peer support specialist once per week. During this time, you will develop your own individual treatment plan. I do like that while you are in the program, you’ll be required to do a weekly drug test.
