About Family Insight Roanoke

Family Insight is a CARF-accredited treatment facility in suburban Roanoke, Virginia. Their treatment and special services are available to adolescents, children, and adults who are struggling with co-occurring conditions and substance abuse disorders. Established in 2011, Family Insight’s mission is to assist individuals and families who aim to elevate and improve their quality of life with evidence-based counseling interventions.

They don’t have a waitlist, and they give you the flexibility to schedule appointments within 24 hours in advance. What makes them unique is how you can receive outpatient counseling in person or virtually. Virtual sessions allow you to heal in the comfort of your own home.

They will complete a comprehensive assessment better assist you and develop a treatment schedule that will work with your other commitments. You will have a variety of different counseling sessions such as trauma recovery, parenting skills, life skills development, and anger management. With this approach, they provide integrative care to help you overcome and develop coping skills with other areas that can negatively affect your recovery.

What stands out to me the most is their multifaceted services included in their Intensive outpatient program (IOP). This includes an individualized treatment plan, substance use education, evaluations, diagnosis, and relapse prevention. By receiving these services, you can build a strong foundation for your recovery and equip yourself with tools to use when triggers hit. If you need to unwind in between therapy sessions, Garst Mill Park isn’t too far away.

A distinctive feature that caught my eye was their specialized treatment for problem gambling and gaming disorder. It’s not uncommon if you or a loved one is struggling with chemical dependency as well as gambling or gaming. They offer group and individual counseling with specific groups, ranging from as young as four, and you can attend treatment sessions virtually.

Chemical dependency can impact your relationship with your loved ones. Conflicts, grief/loss, lack of trust, financial distress, manipulation, enabling, and resentment are some of the many issues that can result in separation. They offer family and couples therapy utilizing evidence based interventions to develop healthy boundaries, rebuild trust, and strengthen communications skills.
