About Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare The Burrell Center
Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare’s Burrell Center is one of forty community service facilities specializing in the treatment of mental and behavioral healthcare, including addiction treatment. Proudly serving their community since 1969, support here is offered to individuals of any age, gender, ethnicity, or background. You’ll find ‘em out in Roanoke, Virginia.
Centralized intake assessments for all of Blue Ridge’s services take place at the Burrell Center. Clients are advised to come here first, and once a thorough evaluation has been done, staff can determine their needs and refer them to relevant services. This can be done on a walk-in basis for same-day access.
Their services for addiction include outpatient counseling and group therapy for adults as well as a peer recovery support program for adults. They have adolescent therapy for addiction and mental health too. They also have a short-term detox and crisis stabilization center.
Outpatient (OP) counseling services are also available, including individual, group, and specialized substance use disorder counseling to help clients get to the root of their addiction. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), skills-based groups, and peer recovery support services are also options for individuals undergoing treatment here.
What I found most impressive about this organization is that their other community services can help with many aspects of life that impact addiction and vice versa. For example, if you’re experiencing homelessness, they have services that can help. They can help with mental health care conditions, too. They’ve specialized care for service members and veterans and their families as well.
