About Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center

The Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center is located in East St. Louis, Illinois. Mental health and substance use services are provided. Although services are provided for children, teens, and adults, substance use services are available for adults.

The intensive outpatient program provides tailored treatment plans, which I like. They use evidence based therapy in the form of individual and group counseling. What may stand out to you is that they provide culturally sensitive support and wellness activities.

Methadone is the prescription provided for the medication assisted treatment. I like that this service is used in conjunction with therapy and behavioral support. The medication will help reduce your cravings and your withdrawal symptoms.

One notable feature to me is their residential program. It offers three different house programs, providing a unique level of support. The housing programs consist of supervised living, support living and transitional living.

The supervised living is for residents who need comprehensive support. Therapeutic aids are provided, as well as an on site licensed nurse to ensure medication safety. Case management will be able to connect you with the necessary resources and programs for you.

Supportive living will provide you with the support needed to maximize your independence. They are able to help you with transportation, job searching and education. I like that they’ve a team to ensure that your needs are being met. You will need to be able to properly manage your personal finances and medications. You will be required to have an income but there is no limit on your length of stay.

Transitional living will empower you to find employment and your own home. The case managers will help you develop needed life skills for independent living. They’ll also help you buy supplies and assist you in finding employment. The length for this housing program is 90 days.
