The Chautauqua Counseling Center is located in suburban Mission, Kansas. They offer outpatient treatment for individuals and their families who are struggling with substance abuse disorders. It’s neat that they’re open on Saturdays. They’re near the Mission Family Aquatic Center and Broadmoor Park if being active and outdoors help you relax.

For covering the costs of treatment they accept private insurance and Kansas Medicaid insurance. If you are uninsured or underinsured they offer sliding scale fees which will be based on your income. They also accept other forms of payment such as DUI providers and diversion monitoring programs as well.

When you’re struggling with addiction it can be stressful to seek treatment especially if you’re working full-time or if you’re a parent. They offer flexibility with scheduling next-day or same-day appointments. They’ll complete evaluations and deliver them within 24 to 48 hours to help you get connected to immediate treatment with referrals for linkage to other community-based programs.

What stands out to me the most is their approach for assisting you with your recovery by providing person-centered care. They will develop an individualized treatment plan with you to discuss areas in your life you want to improve in or heal from. Individual counseling provides a safe and secure setting for you to feel vulnerable and comfortable while expressing yourself. By receiving guidance from a licensed clinician, you can incorporate evidence-based therapies during one-on-one sessions to learn to manage stress, regulate your mood, and combat triggers.

They also offer group counseling and psycho-education for outpatient treatment. They offer day treatment sessions between 11am-1pm and evening treatment sessions between 6-8pm. This allows you to fulfill your weekly commitments and still receive the healing you need to improve your quality of life and develop a strong foundation for your recovery. Group counseling can create a sense of being part of a community and to identify with others who are on the same journey as you. You can hold one another accountable and be reassured that you aren’t alone.
