They have crisis support, single session and short-term counseling, group therapy and support groups, and referrals to additional treatment if appropriate. The University of New England’s student counseling center offers support for students struggling with a variety of mental health concerns. This includes stress, anxiety, adjusting to college, family issues, and alcohol and drug use. They also have crisis response resources and outreach and can refer students to additional treatment if needed.

The University of Southern Maine’s Recovery Oriented Campus Center (ROCC) helps students in recovery. They offer recovery planning, peer support, and community resources, along with substance-free social activities and community events. Students also get help with life skills, leadership and service opportunities, and health and wellness resources.
Health Equity Alliance

The Health Equity Alliance provides services for residents of Maine that include HIV+ care, harm reduction services, homeless support, and sexual health and wellness programs, and LGBTQ+ pride events. They offer safer use supplies, naloxone kits, syringe exchange, and fentanyl test strips along with a resource center that offers a safe place to socialize.

The Frannie Peabody Center provides support for members of the Portland community who are living with HIV. They offer comprehensive services including case management, peer support and housing assistance. They also have prevention services such as PrEP and PEP, testing for HIV and Hep C, outreach, and education.
