About Providence Retreat

Nestled in Hollis, Maine, Providence Retreat offers a serene backdrop for men navigating the challenges of alcoholism and addiction. Catering to just 12 men at any given time, it assures focused attention and care. The retreat proudly upholds the principles of the 12 step Alcoholics Anonymous program, accentuating the transformative power of peer support.

Guests entering the program should have already completed the detoxification process since medical supervision isn't available on the premises. The 3-4 week program is tailored for those transitioning from a structured sober environment, with a clear expectation that they actively engage in the 12 step practices, including securing a sponsor, attending a homegroup, and sharing the recovery message with others. The day at the retreat typically commences with meditation, followed by intensive group sessions diving deep into A.A.'s fundamental teachings.
