About Minority Behavioral Health Group

Minority Behavioral Health Group (MBHG) of Akron, Ohio, is a community health agency that provides mental health treatment and addiction prevention programs. They are dedicated to delivering healthcare services to minority groups, with an emphasis on African Americans. Services are available for people of all ages.

A unique aspect of their approach I liked is their use of Belief System Analysis. Its goal is to improve how well you know yourself and your self confidence. There's an emphasis on the importance of community.

What's special is that the approach comes from an African perspective and is designed with that community in mind. It can be an excellent tool for assessing your needs and developing your course of treatment.

It's also worth noting that the aid you receive from MBGH extends beyond their office. As part of their overall goal of helping clients succeed long term, they will help you access services from other agencies and programs that can lend a helping hand in other areas.

I also appreciate the fact that they offer more than in house services. They have school based services and prevention programs as well as outreach in the community.
