About YVFWC Behavioral Health Services

YVFWC Behavioral Health Services has a clinic on East Mead Avenue in Yakima, Washington. You can get mental health care and outpatient addiction treatment here. They can also refer you to more intensive services if necessary.

They accept Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. You can also qualify for a reduced fee if you document your household income and family size. Finally, they have interest fee payment plans available, which can help remove the barrier of expensive cost when you’re struggling with substance use.

Treatment and Care Coordination

YVFWC has been offering addiction treatment for over 30 years and offers full assessments as well as intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) and general outpatient services. These programs include the usual individual and group counseling as well as family sessions and relapse prevention.

Best of all, they also coordinate care with your primary doctor, which can help keep everyone on the same page and ensure that you’re not getting contradictory advice. They can also refer you to residential or inpatient care.

Addiction isn’t the only thing YVFWC offers; they also treat mental health and co-occurring addiction and mental health conditions. Their mental health department has specialized programs for adults, teens and kids. They can help you recover from trauma, build social skills and learn more about parenting, communication and emotional management.

Unique Programs for Young People in Michigan

One thing I noticed was that they have a couple of unique programs for youth. WISe serves youth with significant behavioral health challenges. They can help young people who haven’t been successful in other mental health services. WISe accepts clients up to age 21 who have Medicaid coverage.

YVFWC also has assistance for young people who may have been affected by addiction in their family. The outpatient addiction program includes family counseling, which helps identify damaged relationships and works to bring healing. I find this really important because young people often imitate those they look up to, even if those choices aren’t healthy, and family counseling can stop a negative cycle.
