About Wings Adolescent Treatment Center
Located in semi-suburban Litchfield, Minnesota, is the WINGS Adolescent Treatment Center. This is a recovery facility that provides resident services to children aged 13 to 18 who are struggling with their substance use, chemical dependencies, or a dual diagnosis.
Children face unique challenges in today’s society, and the integrative recovery team at WINGS recognizes this. Their treatment approach to care is rooted in evidence based practices that are woven into person focused approaches to care.
Your children will feel respected, valued, and heard as they work through the program here. It also helps that the facility is welcoming and has a warm feel to it. Children share bedrooms, and they’ll have the freedom to make their space their own by hanging up posters, photos, and having other comfort items with them from home. The center has clean linoleum tiles, lots of decor, and an open floor plan to encourage fellowship.
All children will start with an initial evaluation during their stay here. This evaluation includes observations, substance use disorder assessments, and approaches that look at a child’s overall wellbeing, challenges, and responses to everyday situations.
There’s a personalized approach to care through this evaluation that will lead the care team here to determine what type of individualized recovery gets created.
Their structured substance use recovery program offers a number of supports including 12 Step programming. There are also educational lectures, counseling, and even medication management if required.
Through the onsite school, your child will continue with the academic journey. A comprehensive therapeutic recreational program also allows children to engage in healthy everyday activities so that they can explore what a productive, positive daily routine looks like. If there are any outings, Optimist Baseball Park isn’t too far away.
Along with their robust residential treatments, there is also a comprehensive aftercare planning approach here. This will equip your child and family with the skills needed for a successful transition once they leave the program here.
