WestCare GulfCoast Turning Point treats substance abuse and mental health for men and women in St. Petersburg, Florida. Veterans are welcome. They offer shelter accommodations at this location. The goal is to offer a complete continuum of care in their three Florida areas with stabilization being the primary objective of Turning Point.
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available at their treatment centers to help lessen withdrawal symptoms and reduce drug cravings. They use FDA-approved medicines to make guests more comfortable.
MAT is typically combined with counseling to help address the root causes of addiction. You may also work on developing healthy coping skills, recognizing substance use triggers and learning relapse prevention methods for future use.
Turning Point provides an emergency intervention shelter for homeless adults and those with substance use issues. This service typically assists people before they begin recovery, but they work to engage them in treatment.

Care managers can help move you to their transitional living area with the Mustard Seed Inn which is close to the shelter. Some guests may transition to residential or outpatient treatment and case management will assist with the appropriate level of care.
