About Wellstone Cullman Area Mental Health
Wellstone Cullman’s Area Mental Health site is a trusted resource for mental health care and addiction treatment in Cullman, Alabama. They actually have two different centers in this same location where you can get drug and alcohol addiction treatment. New Horizons is the adult treatment center for clients ages 19 and older. Nova Center for Youth and Family is for adolescents ages 18 and younger.
For both adult treatment and teen treatment they have outpatient care for addiction recovery. Depending on your needs and where you are in your recovery, you could be a candidate for either the intensive outpatient program or the traditional outpatient which is just a less intensive treatment schedule.
Regardless of whether you’re in the adolescent or adult program, you’ll have group therapy along with individual counseling. To make it easier on your schedule they have daytime and evening sessions available for you to choose from. If your addiction has landed you in hot water with the law, this treatment center also coordinates with the county’s criminal justice system and the juvenile court for drug court programs.
One thing I found especially unique about this facility is their preventative program. Along with treating teens who are dealing with substance abuse, the Nova Center also has a preventative program to teach young people coping skills and strategies to avoid drug and alcohol addiction before they start.
