About Foundry Farm

The Foundry Ministries operates a men’s residential program called Foundry Farm in Cullman, Alabama. Here, they’ll take care of all your basic needs and give you access to counseling, education, job readiness training and spiritual guidance. This is a fresh egg farm in a rural, country setting. They offer a Christian non-denominational program for addiction recovery. Participants don’t need to follow their religious doctrines to participate.

The program runs for nine months and you’ll spend at least six months of those living on campus. There is a one-time intake fee when you’re admitted to the program. The basic program is funded through your farm work and community donations. Some fees for optional services and assessments may be offered. Foundry Farm needs to collect, pack and distribute more than 450 eggs a day. These eggs are sold to local restaurants and grocery stores in town.

You’ll participate in counseling while you live on the farm. They also offer education and job readiness training. Unlike many residential programs, Foundry Farm lets residents go home periodically. Once you’ve completed the fourth week of the program, you’ll get two 24-hour passes to visit home over the next 10 weeks. In the third phase, you’ll get three passes and each one is good for 48 hours. They also have short daytime passes and family visitations on Sundays.

During your time at Foundry Farm, you will get hands-on work experience in the poultry industry. This is a field that is in demand in the area. You could choose to continue your learning at a community or junior college after you complete the program.

After six months into the program, you can choose to go home for the rest of the treatment. Or you can continue to live on campus and find full-time employment. The nice thing is you get access to your car at this point. Foundry Farm also offers aftercare services to make sure that you have the support you need to continue on the path of your recovery.
