About Volunteers of America Northern Rockies Center of Hope

Volunteers of America Northern Rockies Center of Hope is a unique short term residential program in Riverton, Wyoming. I consider them unique due to their unique approach to residential recovery. They offer three days of medically supervised withdrawal, 14 days of social detoxification and up to three months of transitional living. You’ll benefit from a structured program that helps you lay the groundwork for lasting healing in a conducive and supportive setting. Center of Hope accepts referrals mostly from the criminal justice system. You can also self refer.

Medically Supervised Withdrawal

Your recovery journey will begin with three days of medically supervised withdrawal or detox. This procedure is carried out in a highly structured and therapeutic setting. The goal is to wean off addiction related toxins and prepare your body for the next step in the healing journey.

During this process, experienced clinicians will monitor your vitals and withdrawal symptoms 24/7 to ensure safety. They may administer medications alongside counseling to help you better manage withdrawal symptoms. This ensures safe, comfortable and painless withdrawal. Once this stage is over and you’re fully stabilized, the care team will help you transition to the next stage of care which is social detox.

Social Detox in Riverton, WY

Center of Hope’s 14 days social detox gives your body and mind time to adjust without substances after completing medical detox. It’s an opportunity to strengthen your resolve and develop healthier habits for the journey ahead. It involves substance abuse assessments to evaluate your mental health, physical condition and personal challenges post detox. Based on this evaluation, the care team will create a tailored treatment plan that’ll guide you in the long haul.

You’ll attend recovery focused group therapy sessions to help you develop strong coping skills and prevent relapse. You’re also required to attend AA/NA 12 Step meetings to strengthen your support network. The program also incorporates experiential activities like early morning meditation to foster holistic healing.

Transitional Living Program

You’ll most likely continue your recovery through this transitional living stage. This program gives you an opportunity to live in a safe and structured environment as you prepare to reenter the community. It focuses on lasting recovery and reintegration. You’ll participate in daily recreational exercises, life skill development and vocational training. This program also integrates spiritual support to help you find peace and purpose in recovery by connecting to a higher power.

You’ll learn personal accountability, responsibility and independence as you navigate a sober lifestyle. This ensures smooth reintegration into the community. As you move forward in your recovery, they’ll help you navigate job placement and safe accommodation by linking you to community resources.
