About VA Finger Lakes Healthcare
VA Finger Lakes Healthcare Elmira VA Clinic is a federally operated outpatient clinic in New York that provides medical and mental health services for Veterans. The clinic offers confidential individual and group therapy to address addiction, depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and OCD.
Outpatient Addiction Treatment for Veterans
The Elmira VA Clinic provides outpatient mental health care that includes confidential evaluation and treatment for addiction. Veterans can access individual and group therapy sessions tailored to their recovery goals, with medication assisted options available if needed.
Appointments are available weekdays, and we found the clinic emphasizes same day help when needed. Sessions focus on both the immediate challenges of addiction and the underlying issues that sustain it.
Co-Occurring Condition Support
Many Veterans manage addiction alongside trauma, PTSD, anxiety, or depression, and the Elmira clinic addresses these co-occurring conditions within the same care plan. Counseling also supports relationship concerns and aggressive or self-harming behaviors, providing care that we know reflects the complexities of Veteran experiences.
Getting Started at the Elmira VA Clinic
The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for in-person outpatient visits. Wheelchairs are available on-site, and transportation support through DAV vans and beneficiary travel benefits can help Veterans attend scheduled appointments.
Services are provided at no cost to eligible Veterans, and some mental health services may be available even without full VA enrollment.
