About 12 Step Education Program

The 12 Step Education Program is a transitional or sober living facility for men and women in the early stages of recovery from substance use. The program is most suitable if you’ve completed detox or inpatient rehab and need a supportive communal environment to build independent skills before rejoining your community. The facility is situated in suburban Billerica in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. The area blends small-town charm and modern conveniences.

Out and About in Billerica

Nearby natural attractions like Nuttings Lake and Middlesex Canal Museum and Park enhance its appeal and offer recreational benefits while onsite. The facility is conveniently located near public transportation along Boston Road, close to Interstate 495 and US Route 3. LRTA Bus Service offers local transit connections to Lowell and surrounding towns.

In addition to their cool location, they’re well equipped to enhance comfort. There are single, double, and dorm-style rooms available each with cable TV. Onsite laundry equipment and telephone are accessible. Residents enjoy well balanced three square meals daily through the course of their stay. I love how residents have free gym access, onsite yoga classes and free transportation to offsite meetings. The onsite management team is available 24/7 to ensure the smooth running of the facility.

Building A Lasting Recovery Through 12 Step Practices

Maintaining a sober lifestyle after rehab can be tough. I like how The 12 Step provides a safe, structured and supportive space where you can build sober habits with the guidance of experts and the support of peers. You’ll manage life with peers in this environment and learn personal responsibility and independent living skills as you make commitments to sobriety. A low staff-to-client ratio means you’ll receive maximum care and support.

The program is rooted in 12 Steps. You’re mandated to attend onsite AA and NA meetings eight times a week. These meetings let you experience camaraderie and healing in a safe space. You’ll become part of a peer community to share your experiences and receive actionable feedback to help you take responsibility for your life. The group support and the sense of belonging that you feel will inspire you to turn your back on your addiction for good.

You won’t just achieve abstinence and sobriety. You’ll learn how to maintain it in the real world to meet the daily expectations that life in sobriety brings. The program offers guidance for family members via affiliate partners. You must adhere to the no drug or drinking rules, among others, to avoid being expelled from the program. These rules help you build accountability as well.
