About Treatment Trends Halfway Home
Treatment Trends is a non-profit organization that offers a range of addiction recovery support. Their halfway home is in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It’s is a low-intensity residential facility that accommodates up to 40 men and women.
Halfway houses are community-based, supportive homes that are staffed and managed. People often step down to this level of care after residential treatment. An emphasis is on reintegrating into society and becoming self-sufficient. Residents are given access to counseling, vocational development and life skills training.
Treatment Trends has contracts with lots of different organizations in Pennsylvania so that residents are able to get the resources and links to services that they need.
They also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) including extended-release and oral medications to treat opioid and alcohol use disorders. They can prescribe various FDA-approved medications including naltrexone, Sublocade, Suboxone and more.
I like that Treatment Trends divides their residence into various phases. In Phase 1, residents learn how to manage responsibilities in the home and in the local community. During Phase 2, you'll begin to look for a job and prepare to enter the workforce. Phase 3 is the working phase where residents have a job and are able to apply all they've learned about recovery to their day-to-day experiences. Folks that are unable to work due to disability can participate in community service or ongoing education.
The final phase is where residents begin to prepare for discharge. They'll continue to balance their responsibilities at work and take care of themselves with a focus on recovery. You'll be expected to continue to attend support groups and complete your daily chores in the home. You will address any legal, family, medical or other responsibilities as you transition out of the program.
