About Tranquility Woods Addiction Treatment Center
Tranquility Woods’ Addiction Treatment Center in Pasadena, Maryland, offers residential and outpatient treatment for men and women with substance use disorders. They accept most insurance plans including Tricare East, Aetna, CareFirst and more. Their admissions team can answer questions about coverage.
They offer medical detox and residential programs that run 30 to 90 days. They feature four homes with 24 bedrooms all together and 23 full bathrooms. Other amenities include 2 pools, onsite laundry, fire pits, basketball court, ping pong tables, gym, hot tubs and plenty of walking trails on 40 acres.
Up to 40 clients at a time can be in residence. Staff includes a medical team, behavioral health team, and culinary team. Each week, you'll have at least three private sessions with your addiction counselor. You'll also have at least one individual session with a licensed mental health therapist. The rest of the programming largely takes place in group formats.
I like that they offer all residents a half hour weekly massage. Massage therapy is excellent for reducing anxiety and stress and can increase the mind body connection. Plus, it's a nice way to begin to love your body again. They also offer weekly off site adventure therapy sessions on Saturdays. These will help you get exposed to off campus experiences, build social skills and have fun while being sober.
Tranquility Woods offers an all-male extended care program. Clients get 24/7 supervision and a highly structured schedule. They also offer an eight week partial hospitalization program either virtually or in person. I like that each week focuses on a different topic to help you rebuild your life. For example, week one might be about triggers, cravings and avoiding relapse. Week two’s theme can be about stress and emotional wellness.
Last but not least, is their intensive track, which is available either morning or evening. This is a step down from partial hospitalization care and is also available in person or online.
