About Tillamook Family Counseling Center
Tillamook Family Counseling Center in Tillamook, Oregon supports adults affected by substance misuse and mental issues through quality and affordable outpatient services. Their compassionate behavioral health professionals equip you with new skills, a fresh perspective and new strategies to cope with life’s changing problems.
This location is their main office from where you can connect to their suites of services including crisis intervention, addiction recovery and prevention services. They also offer specialized programs for adults, child and family services and developmental disabilities.
Their treatment options for addictive behavior or substance misuse include both outpatient programs (OP ) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). These programs involve intake assessment, personalized treatment planning and counseling. They may offer referral to a high intensity residential treatment facility after assessment if clinically appropriate. The facility offers evidence based individual, group and family counseling.
Group counseling promotes peer interaction in a nonjudgmental setting. You’ll connect and share experiences with others facing similar challenges. Such interactions can spark healthy relationships or friendships that encourage mutual support even after recovery. Group environments can be a self confidence booster. You can also gain interpersonal skills like stress/anger management, effective communication and problem solving. It’s all about building coping skills, preventing relapse and staying sober.
Family counseling focuses on improving communication, resolving conflict and rebuilding relationships with loved ones. This creates a positive family dynamic that strengthens your support network. They may also offer addiction education classes to help you better grasp addiction from the disease aspect and potential recovery pathways.
Their IOP is slightly structured and involves relatively more intense therapeutic support. You can expect about nine hours of group sessions weekly alongside individual therapy. This is compared to about 90 minutes of group sessions for the OP. That said both programs are very flexible and sessions are designed to accommodate work and family commitments.
The facility also provides early intervention and education services to help you identify and tackle addictive behavior early before it escalates. Services are available for folks involved with the criminal justice system including DUII assessment and education. Specialized support is available for parents in recovery.
They also provide peer support and recovery coaching to help you stay accountable and motivated. You’ll get guidance from others who understand the journey and can share helpful insights. Their prime plus project is a unique peer support program that helps prevent acute substance use crises through harm reduction approaches.
Case management services may be part of their substance use recovery program as well. Case managers coordinate care and connect you to community resources that support your recovery efforts. This may include employment, stable housing and medical care. Women in recovery can take advantage of their transitional housing to build independent living skills necessary for lasting sobriety.
