About The Ranch of Opportunity
The Ranch of Opportunity is a 22-acre ranch that offers a residential treatment program for teen girls between 13 and 17 years old. This tranquil ranch is in Washington Court House, Ohio and includes six to eight months of residential treatment for both in and out-of-state young women.
They can accommodate up to 30 girls who have co-occurring mental health, substance abuse and behavioral disorders that cannot be treated separately. Many of the clients of The Ranch of Opportunity are using self-destructive behaviors due to severe childhood trauma. Pregnant young women are welcome.
There’s a six-bed unit used for used to evaluate and stabilize residents who need intensive supervision during their transition into care. The open unit houses 24 girls.
The county of residence pays for each girl’s room and board. Each client’s home school district pays for educational funding and private insurance or Medicaid covers the medical and clinical services. The Ranch of Opportunity also accepts individual and corporate donations.
Each youth will receive a customized treatment plan that is trauma-informed. All members of her treatment team work together to be consistent in their interactions. All staff have extensive training in
trauma-informed care to make sure they are compassionate, sensitive and knowledgeable.
Healing will come from the clinical and expressive therapies available which include equine therapy, and vocational and recreational opportunities. The girls will also benefit from the serene setting where they can commune with the natural world. All these experiences encourage responsible and accountable behavior in a supportive environment.
Pregnant clients will get appropriate medical care, placement of the baby after birth and help with reconciliation of mother and child after discharge.
