About The Counseling Center of Columbiana County
The Counseling Center of Columbiana County provides comprehensive counseling and psychiatric services in Lisbon, Ohio. The organization is CARF accredited and licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Their substance use disorders services are offered as an outpatient program to adults and adolescents. Insurance is accepted. If you are uninsured or choose to not use insurance, you will have the option for self pay. With self pay, they will determine the amount for treatment based on your household size and income.
Before beginning treatment, you will undergo an assessment. The assessment is so that the staff can better understand your specific problems, needs and strengths. Afterwards, you and the counselors will speak about the treatments they are suggesting and recommending for you. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available if needed.
What stood out to me is all the group therapy programs they offer. They have an insight group that meets once per week for two hours. In this group, you will be focusing on the negative effects of abusing and using chemicals. For this group, you will meet for a total of six weeks.
If you are dependent on chemicals that alter your mood, they may recommend their intensive outpatient program (IOP). With this program, you are able to work or attend school and other responsibilities during the day. Group sessions occur during the evenings for two and a half hours, four days per week. Treatment totals 16 sessions in a four week time period.
Once you have completed your treatment program, they offer aftercare and reach groups. With the aftercare group, you’ll learn to apply the skills you’ve learned during treatment. The reach group will help you maintain your sobriety. This group spans over a course of three months. You will meet for eight weeks, once a week for two hours.
They also have a specialized program for adolescents struggling with a substance use disorder. The program is designed to meet the needs of adolescents that are between the ages of 14 and 17 years old. Your teen will need to be referred to the program.
