About The Bridge Hastings

The Bridge Hastings is located in Hastings, Nebraska. This facility hosts residential treatment for women and the Mom & Me program, which allows pregnant women and mothers to get treatment while their children live with them.

The Bridge accepts Medicaid and self payment. They are also funded through grants and private donations.

Residential Treatment for Women in Hastings

The residential program focuses on women who have struggled in less intensive programs or who have substance use issues that affect the majority of their lives. They provide counseling to help women become fully aware of the impact of substance use on their lives and enhance their motivation to change.

They also help women identify their strengths and develop new skills and a better self image. Clients set realistic goals and progress toward them throughout the program, which lasts six to 18 months.

Mom & Me: A Focus on Parenting Skills

I like their Mom and Me program because it not only allows the children to stay with their moms, but it also recognizes that these children need support due to the impact of seeing substance use in the family. Residents learn new skills with a focus on effective parenting and enhancing their relationships with their kids. They also help the children heal as their mom does, and encourage the kids to learn healthy coping skills themselves.

Many parenting services are available at The Bridge, but I like that they also have connections to community organizations for additional support. Children are also enrolled in off site daycare at an appropriate age. The Bridge works with moms to find a program with which they are comfortable.
