About Teen Challenge

Teen Challenge San Diego provides faith-based addiction recovery services for adult men in San Diego, California, specializing in long-term residential care. Their San Diego treatment facility is designed for clients in early recovery and encompasses the first (induction) phase of a three-phased, 12 month recovery program.

Clients engage in intensive spiritual education as they begin to acclimate to the recovery process. Recovery-focused Bible study, prayer, devotion, and worship services are mandatory for all residents. Clients also participate in spiritually and recovery-oriented individual and group counseling. The program supports clients’ sustained sobriety and eventual reintegration into the home, workplace, and community through robust life skills training, addressing topics such as coping, self-care, wellness, emotional regulation, anger and stress management, financial and household management, conflict resolution, job readiness, parenting, ad relapse prevention. Work therapy is integral to the program, enabling clients to develop the social and vocational skills to maintain a sober, productive, and self-supporting lifestyle. Following the completion of the induction phase, clients will transfer to another residential facility for ongoing faith-based treatment.

The program’s aftercare services ensure a complete continuum of care aligned with clients’ evolving needs and may include academic and vocational training, employment and housing assistance, and referrals for medical, mental health, and social service programs. Payment options include private insurance and self-pay. Most services are available at low and no cost, with housing, food, and treatment costs offset through the clients’ engagement in the work therapy program.
