Standing Rock Treatment Program is on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation and is run by the tribal government. They offer outpatient and intensive inpatient substance use disorder treatment in Fort Yates, North Dakota. Their approach supports the whole person, including mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well being.

Indigenous Healing Practices Incorporated

I like that they honor Native American traditions and family ways. Most clients are from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe or nearby tribal communities, but sometimes non-native clients are accepted too. They use proven western addiction treatments with indigenous healing practices like talking circles, sweat lodges and traditional ceremonies. 

Tribal elders and spiritual leaders help guide parts of the healing. Staff is trained in both addiction counseling and Native wellness practices. They focus on helping folks find balance and stay connected and supported. 

Affordable Care and Ongoing Support

They take Indian Health Service (IHS) coverage. Tribal members who qualify can get services for little or no cost. I noticed that they also provide case management services and help plan aftercare and sober activities to help keep your recovery on track.

Peaceful Surroundings and Community Support

The reservation is surrounded by peaceful prairie landscapes that support reflection and healing. Being close to primary care services makes it easy to coordinate care, and the Missouri River and local parks offer peaceful spots for activities and traditional ceremonies. Community resources like Sitting Bull College and the Tribal Headquarters add cultural and educational support for recovery.
