About F.S. Dubois Center
Located in Stamford, Connecticut, is the Stamford Community Based Service Franklin S Dubois Center. The center serves residents throughout the Stamford and Norwalk area, providing care to residents in over two dozen surrounding communities. There’s a multidisciplinary team here that works with individuals experiencing a range of behavioral health struggles. This includes individuals who have mental health needs, co-occurring substance use challenges, and those who need rehabilitation services to lead an independent life. They accept Medicaid and Medicare, and you won’t be denied care because of an inability to pay.
Diverse In-Office and Community Support
There are many ways you can receive care through this center. There are in office support services available. The office is close to downtown so it's easy to commute or walk here if you live nearby.
They also offer Community Based Services through The Community Services Division (CSD) located here. This program will triage and render services as necessary. They can also refer you to partner agencies so that you get individualized and appropriate care for your mental health and substance use recovery needs.
I find their substance abuse services which are offered through the Community Support Services Program to be well structured and robust. This program will pair you with educational, vocational, residential, and other services that can help you find success in recovery.
Jail Diversion Programs
Their jail diversion programs help at-risk individuals find the support they need outside of an institutional facility. I appreciate that this program has staff who work alongside the court system to identify individuals who would be more productively served with mental health support as opposed to incarceration. I think this program offers an effective solution to addressing mental health struggles that doesn't simply punish a victim.

Addiction treatment in the metro area benefits clients by offering seamless connections from the city, around the state, and those seeking out-of-state treatment. Another benefit of attending a metro area drug rehab is that you’re close to major airports and ground transportation services.
Business centers are a preferred amenity in many mental health and addiction recovery facilities and typically feature secure, high-speed internet, computer stations, printers, and related business technologies. Business centers are designed to enable professionals and students to continue to participate in work or school activities without leaving the treatment facility.
