Located in Norwich, Connecticut, Southeastern Mental Health Authority provides treatment and supportive services to veterans, adults, and their families who are struggling with mental health conditions and substance abuse disorders. Known as “The Rose Of New England” because of its breathtaking beauty, this area offers inviting spaces to self-reflect and de-stress during recovery.

Southeastern Mental Health Authority offers a crisis intervention team, a brief care program, and a mobile outreach team. These services and their team of clinicians can provide immediate care, especially if you’re experiencing a challenge with managing symptoms from mental health conditions.

Their outpatient services provide a variety of treatments like medication management, individual therapy and group sessions.The outpatient schedule provides flexibility, giving you space to take care of your family, maintain employment, or continue education without interfering with your healing journey.
They also offer forensic services. These services are for individuals who are released after being incarcerated but are under partial supervision. They offer a jail diversion program, an offender reentry program and a diversion and trauma recovery program for veterans. These programs include case management, trauma care and assistance for community services and housing.

Their Young Adults Services (YAS) are for individuals between the ages of 18 and 25. These services are designed to provide a smooth transition from the Department of Children and Families and connect youth to the adult mental health system. The goal is to empower participants with skills to become more independent and self-reliant. Case managers, social workers, nurses and vocational staff work as a team to help young people succeed and continue their journey of recovery.
