Solutions CCRC

Solutions Community Counseling and Recovery Centers (CCRC) in Springboro, Ohio, offered outpatient services for mental health and substance use disorders. They offered a sliding fee scale discount to make treatment more affordable. The facility is now closed, but other treatment centers in the area can provide similar services.

General Outpatient Treatment for Adults

Adult general outpatient treatment was offered for substance abuse with special treatment for those with a dual diagnosis. Treatment consisted of individual counseling and group therapy sessions. The duration and frequency was determined during a client's assessment based on the client’s needs.

Outpatient services were available for mental health issues. Treatment focused on relieving clients from dysphoric emotions by assisting the client in finding motivation to change maladaptive beliefs and behaviors.

Psychiatric and Pharmacological Treatment

Adult psychiatric treatment and pharmacological management was available to clients. Psychiatrists and advanced practice nurses who were able to write prescriptions, and registered nurses and practical nurses staffed the department.

I appreicate that medications were used when needed to make counseling and treatment more effective. Vivitrol medication assisted treatment was offered only in dire circumstances.

Psychological Services and Interventions

Psychological services began with interviewing the client to clarify their diagnosis and form a treatment plan. Additional issues that were noted were referred to the appropriate provider or received an intervention at the clinic.
Services could determine the client’s competency and guardianship of an elderly or disabled client. Some clients had been ordered to have an assessment by a court or child protective services to evaluate custody, visitation, reunification, and supervision.

Case Management and Self Care

Case management was offered to clients who needed assistance with various resources or actions. What stands out to me is that their case managers advocated, referred clients to community services, and taught survival skills.

These skills included budgeting, shopping, cooking, self care, and self administration of medications. Services ranged from more than once per day to once every three months, depending on what the client needed.
