About Santa Maria Hostel

The Santa Maria Hostel is a residential treatment center located in Houston, Texas. They provide high quality care to women, women with children, and pregnant women who are struggling with substance abuse disorders. They can also treat co occurring mental health disorders.

Along with intensive residential treatment, there are specialty programs, including one for single women and another for women with children. They provide individualized treatment plans, social support groups, accessibility to 12 step meetings, anger management, peer recovery support, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) counseling, and so much more.

One unique element of their residential program is the VIEWS program for female veterans. Veterans have unique experiences and may struggle with trauma from their time on based and deployed. Female veterans may have suffered sexual violence or have PTSD. The VIEWS program allows you to recover with others who understand what you’ve been through and can support you in recovery.

Another thing that caught my attention was their approach to including the family unit as part of your healing process. Struggling with addiction can create resentment between you and your loved ones. It can also create conflict due to a lack of understanding of how addiction affects your well being as well as theirs.

The Santa Maria Hostel offers family therapy which creates a safe space for you to resolve issues, improve communication skills, establish healthy boundaries, and rebuild trust. They also provide family education to provide more insight and clarity on the process of recovery and receive support during this time of transition.
