About Puyallup Tribal Health Authority
Adults and youth are able to receive addiction treatment services at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority in Tacoma, Washington. They specialize in outpatient care.
All of their programs center on culturally appropriate services. To help the staff fully comprehend your situation, you will take an initial assessment. It is important that you arrive on time for your assessment. If you are late then they will ask you to return at another date.
The person performing the assessment is going to ask you an array of questions. You will be asked about your alcohol and/or drug use, mental health issues, medical issues, and your experiences related to work, school, family and social life.
Once your assessment is complete, you and your counselor will work together to determine the best level of care for you. Both of you will also determine the best treatment plan that will support your recovery. If detox or residential treatment is determined to be needed then the counselors will provide you with a referral.
If needed, adults are able to receive medication assisted treatment (MAT). Women who are pregnant will also be able to access treatment. When it comes to group therapy, that schedule will be developed weekly This is done to make sure they are meeting your needs, as they may also change.
The youth treatment services offer young individuals to seek help for mental health issues, as well as drug and alcohol abuse. The treatment style for this program will be family-focused. Your child will mostly attend individual and group counseling.
They are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The chemical dependency treatment program is certified by the state of Washington.
