About Puente House Sober Living in Covina
Puente House Foundation has been giving men and women safe and sober residences since 1995. They’re located in Covina, California, where they run two men’s homes and a woman’s house as well. People with addictions can get a chance to live in a home with their peers while working on their sobriety. Many residents are given scholarships to fund their rent when needed.
Residents at Puente House pay a flat monthly fee that works out to around $25 a day. There aren’t any other fees or dues to worry about. Residents are treated with respect and dignity and have access to a supportive 12 step community. All homes are within walking distance of more than 60 local AA/NA meetings a week.
In addition to a safe and sober home, residents also get a structured program that helps them get connected to the recovery community. Residents must be willing to agree to the house rules, be actively working toward their recovery goals and participate in all of their AA/NA meetings. The goal of Puente House is to help men and women move from rehab or homelessness to permanent housing. Transitional homes are a stepping stone to what comes next.
The woman’s home is in a beautifully remodeled fully furnished home with modern touches. It has a large and well equipped kitchen, on site laundry and utilities. Residents get high speed internet and WiFi. I like that their rent includes a gym membership so that they can focus on their physical health while in recovery. Rooms are dorm room style and are shared with other residents. Up to three residents may share a room. Both the women's and men’s homes are within walking distance of the Alano Club.
Puente House has an annual golf tournament to raise money for scholarships and financial support.
