About PORT HEALTH | Greenville Methadone Program

In Greenville, North Carolina, Port Human Services’ Opioid Treatment Program is an outpatient addiction treatment center. Port Health was recently acquired by the Easterseals organization. In addition to pharmacy and substance abuse treatment services, they offer disability support and mental health support. At this location you’ll find medication management and outpatient substance abuse counseling.

I like that Easterseals recognizes the importance of using medication assisted therapy in conjunction with group and individual therapy. The primary goal of counseling sessions is to help you develop the necessary skills needed to maintain a productive lifestyle. They emphasize their non judgmental approach with culturally sensitive and diverse treatment.

They will monitor your medications and make adjustments if need be. The goal is that you won’t become dependent on them and can taper off when symptoms are addressed. A case management team will be involved so that they can coordinate your meds with your other programs and lifestyle.

To qualify for the outpatient opioid addiction program at Easterseals, you’ll need to have a substance use disorder diagnosis and a willingness to participate in recovery support. I’m impressed by how they emphasize how safe this program is for pregnant women. If you require more support than outpatient care, they’ll give you referrals to a nearby residential addiction treatment program.

Easterseals accepts most private insurance and Medicaid and Medicare.

People who’ve received treatment at this facility say it’s one of the most amazing places they’ve been to. They also said the staff goes above and beyond for the clients. It’s also neat that they’re next to the Phil Carroll Nature Preserve in case you want to decompress and unwind in the outdoors.

Some other former clients mentioned they didn’t like it when the staff switched their doctors without notice.
