About Ponca Tribe of Nebraska
Located in Lincoln, Nebraska, is the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska Behavioral Health Services’s Lincoln office. This is an outpatient clinic that will support you if you're struggling with substance use addiction and can assist with your overall behavioral health. It’s not too far from Hazel Abel Garden Park and the community gardens.
Along with helping adults, they have dedicated youth services, including youth prevention programs. As an educator, this intentional approach in working with impressionable and vulnerable children stands out to me because it helps families learn how to support their children in ways that will impact their future for the better.
Their outpatient substance recovery services are robust and include treatment, education, and chemical dependency programs. Implemented with the support of Native Ponca tribal members for the Native American community, services are culturally sensitive, respect traditional values, and have the backing of modern evidence based therapies.
The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska Behavioral Health Services is well established in the community. They take referrals from various agencies including domestic violence specialists, the Ponca tribal court, and the tribe's Department of Health and Human Services.
With roots that spread through the community, I appreciate how the community recognizes and values the services offered here. Their services not only benefit the individuals, they serve the community as a whole. It's an organization that has made its compassionate, person focused approach to care known to residents throughout the region. This has helped reduce the stigma of seeking support for substance use or mental health disorders.
I also appreciate that they provide culturally appropriate care while also utilizing proven methods like the 12 Step program. My impression of these programs is that they've helped past clients find a community of peers they can turn to. This has helped recovering individuals like you find value, purpose, and motivation in their recovery.
Building off of their commitment to the community, I also appreciate the ancillary life services offered. Among their supports are legal guidance and referrals to residential treatment or halfway houses if you need more robust care.
