About Pathways of Idaho Caldwell
Pathways of Idaho in Nampa, now known as Clarvida, is just one of the organization’s locations across 17 states. This particular facility specializes in mental health care and foster services for individuals of all ages.
Here, clients can access a range of mental health and community services. For example, mental health counseling is offered as individual, group, or family sessions. Styles used include but aren’t limited to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), EMDR, play therapy and various trauma-informed practices.
Clients may access these services independently or as part of an intensive outpatient program (IOP). IOP is designed to help participants develop healthier coping mechanisms and better management of mental and behavioral health symptoms. While not specifically designed to support substance use disorder (SUD), individuals may bring this to their IOP since many of the treatment methods here overlap with those provided at dedicated drug rehab facilities.
While engaging in IOP, individuals will learn to improve their communication, sense of self, self-care management skills and independence. Specialized, age-appropriate IOP is available for young people aged 13 to 18 years with the adult program suitable for individuals aged 19 and older. A hospital, health facility, or therapist must refer participants to these programs.
The main difference between the teen and adult programs is the time commitment. Adults must engage in at least six hours of treatment per week while teens require nine hours or more. Both can be suited to fit alongside existing work or educational commitments with some help.
As for the contents of IOP, individuals can expect community-based rehab services, a minimum of two group therapy sessions per week and a one-to-one session. Case management services, family therapy, medication management and peer support services are included as needed. Telehealth services are also available. The program is designed to last for around six months though individuals can stay for up to three months or more depending on their needs.
