Perspectives Behavioral Health Management was a private mental health treatment organization in Greenwood, Arkansas. The organization offered quality outpatient treatment for Medicaid clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. The organization’s mission was to provide high quality services through proactive and progressive treatment. They accepted Medicaid and Medicare, as well as private insurance. They did allow smoking in designated areas. They have since closed their doors.

The Greenwood facility was convenient to Highway 10 and was near Heartsill Creek. Greenwood features Bell Park, which is home to a walking trail system, tennis courts, an 18 hole disc golf course, and green space where clients can take some time to rest and recharge.

I liked that the organization focused on providing mental health treatment to children and their family members. The key principles of treatment included accurate initial assessments, intervention, remediation, and management of mental health symptoms across all populations served by the program.

The staff aimed to assist clients in their daily functions to improve self esteem and happiness. I noticed that they worked to empower individuals toward autonomy, which helps not only the person in question but also the entire community.

Culturally Sensitive Evidence Based Mental Health and Addiction Treatment

The therapy sessions here were culturally sensitive, and they offered language services for Spanish speaking clients. There were services available for hearing impaired individuals.

Available programs included a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and regular outpatient treatment. They offered specialized treatment for clients with substance use and mental health disorders that addressed both disorders simultaneously.

The treatment staff took a trauma informed approach and they used evidence based therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), individual therapy, and group therapy. They used family counseling to improve support systems and family dynamics.

One thing I noticed was that this facility also had education services. The services included helping clients with GED and college level courses.

They also offered support for vocational skills and social development. This facility offered comprehensive outpatient treatment for clients with mental health addictions.
