About VOA Laramie
VOA (Volunteers of America) is a national not for profit organization that provides mental health support specifically for veterans. Their location in Laramie, Wyoming, offers mental health services for veterans and their families along with moral injury services. While they don’t offer addiction care here, I discovered they have six other locations in the state that do provide addiction care to veterans and non veterans.
Outpatient Addiction Care
I found that there are four VOA locations across Wyoming that offer comprehensive substance use disorder care for individuals, families and communities on an outpatient basis. These services are specifically for individuals fighting addiction from drugs and alcohol. Support also includes social detox services and residential care as needed.
Intensive Care When You Need It
Addiction looks different for everyone, and some people may require more sustained, hands on care to achieve sobriety. VOA offers medication assisted treatment (MAT) to help gently wean people with severe addiction off of substances. Meanwhile, there are also specialized programs designed for indigenous and Christian communities that incorporate aspects of their cultures.
Payment Options
While Medicaid is accepted for outpatient care, residential treatment programs do not accept it. However, the VOA facility does offer a sliding scale based on income and current insurance status.
