Pawnee Mental Health Services – Hayes Drive is located in Manhattan, Kansas. This facility serves as a Crisis Stabilization Unit for men and women who are experiencing an acute mental health episode, including episodes that are brought on by a co occurring substance use disorder.

The crisis center is located right off of a major boulevard that runs through town, so it is rather accessible considering you won't have to leave city limits. Public transportation is also available here if you live too far to walk or don't have your own transportation to get here.

This is a small building, and it's not overwhelming or intimidating as many people often feel in hospital or clinical settings. Instead, when you get here, you'll ring the doorbell, and a staff member will greet you and begin the triage process to begin receiving services. There's also a phone number that you can call as well if you aren't able to get to the facility yourself.

Some of the people who receive care here do so voluntarily while others might be referred here by state authorities like probation officers or the Department for Children and Families. Either way, there’s judgment free care as you work to regain your mental stability.

Receiving crisis services here is often the first step for people who are struggling with their mental health or substance use. Once your body is stabilized, your team will determine what the next steps are in your recovery plan. I appreciate that you don't feel alone once your mind and body are stabilized. Instead, you’ll have options available to you so that you can begin working on your health and wellness if you're ready for it.
