About Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health
Located in North Charleston, South Carolina, Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health treats adults and adolescents with substance abuse and mental health issues. The inpatient option is a medical detox program. A partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for addiction treatment are also options for people who prefer to live at home. As a part of Patriot Support Programs, a dedicated military treatment program is available for adult TRICARE members.
The Counseling For Addictions and Recovery Education (CARE) program is a half day treatment program for adults aged 18 and older. Using the disease concept of addiction and the 12 Steps, the goals of this outpatient program include improving your quality of life and your physical health.
CARE is held Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. A five week treatment course is recommended, but the actual length of the program is based on your individual needs. Treatment includes process and psychoeducational groups with psychiatric consultation.
The Patriot Support Program is for military personnel who are struggling with addiction or mental health issues. Using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), clinicians will help you heal within the cultural context of the military. You’ll also receive medication management and a military liaison to support you.
A trauma recovery focused group program is available in a partial hospitalization program setting. This is for people who have experienced a traumatic event.
