About Northwest Passage Riverside
Northwest Passage Riverside is a residential treatment campus in Webster, Wisconsin serving adolescent males and gender diverse youth ages 12 to 17.
The program treats complex mental health presentations and trauma histories, emotional dysregulation and harmful behaviors using DBT, ARC informed care and experiential learning.
Through its branded PassageWay therapeutic lifestyle model, I like how Riverside helps young people build resilience, develop lasting skills and reconnect with themselves and their families in a tranquil riverside setting.
Residential Treatment for Adolescents
Riverside offers 24/7 residential care across three family style homes on a 70 acre property wrapped around the Clam River.
With a 26 bed capacity and an average stay of six to ten months, the program pairs evidence based mental health interventions with family involvement throughout treatment and discharge planning.
Care centers on dialectical behavior therapy, teaching emotional regulation and distress tolerance, mindfulness and interpersonal skills through weekly individual and group sessions.
ARC informed trauma care, psychiatric medication management and neuropsychological evaluations round out a model that addresses underlying issues, not just symptoms.
I want to point out that caregivers frequently report major improvements in mood, family relationships and school performance after treatment.
Nature Based and Experiential Care
Riverside blends clinical care with outdoor and creative experiences across its robust campus.
Youth engage in mountain biking and canoeing, fishing and expressive arts, nature photography and woodworking, supported by gardens and trails, a gymnasium and waterfront recreation.
This immersive approach reinforces skill building while offering identity affirming treatment for youth of all backgrounds, cultures and experiences.
Getting Started
The campus sits in a rural lakes and woods area of northwest Wisconsin, about an hour and a half north of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
