About The Kaplan Family Center
Kaplan Family Center is part of the Access: Supports for Living Agency. Their mission is to provide mental health and addiction counseling out of their office in Newburgh, New York. This outpatient clinic has treatment options for people of all ages.
This network accepts Medicare and Medicaid. However, what I find appealing is their sliding fee schedule. It provides an adjusted cost of service for those without insurance based on factors like income and family size.
Keeping You Connected in a Crisis
Whether you're enrolled in this center's counseling program, the Access agency provides 24 hour crisis services for anyone in Orange County. You can simply call in when facing any kind of crisis to get compassionate help from a trained crisis responder. They'll help you stabilize and plan your next steps.
One thing that caught my eye about this program is that you can have responders come to you in person, too. This is a great option if you're feeling unsafe. It shows me their dedication to helping you even in dire and unpredictable circumstances.
Walk In, No Appointment Needed
A unique aspect of the Kaplan Family Center is the Urgent Care service. It's similar to the crisis line and allows you to be seen during business hours without an appointment. Urgent Care staff helps identify your needs and develop a care plan, including referrals to appropriate providers.
For some people, Urgent Care is the start of their recovery journey. For others, it's support in times of need. Regardless of how you use it, you'll find it's just one of many tools available to overcome unexpected challenges in recovery.
Case Management for Vulnerable Populations
Care coordination is available for those with behavioral health concerns, but I want to give special mention to this location program for those who are homeless or are incarcerated. While everyone can benefit from extra help, these populations face additional challenges in getting help and finding stability.
Case managers facilitate communication between clients and caregivers and help them find support resources within their community. They help meet their daily living needs. Given the additional barriers these vulnerable populations face every day, this sort of help can go a long way toward recovery.
