About National Capital Treatment and Recovery – Demeter House
The Demeter House of National Capital Treatment and Recovery is located in Arlington, Virginia. This is a women’s only intensive residential treatment program. Medicaid and other insurances are accepted. If you’re eligible, they may have financial assistance for you.
Before you enter this program, they’ll conduct a 90 minute assessment. This assessment helps determine the correct level of care for you. You will be drug tested as part of your assessment.
I do like that they have you meet with a master’s level clinician after your assessment. The clinician will review your mental health, medical, drug, and social history. If needed, they may also have conversations with your family members.
They designed their program to help you and other women break the cycle of alcohol and drug abuse. During your counseling sessions, they will provide you with the tools needed to be successful when you graduate to your next level of care.
I like that you will have the option for daily exercise and recreation. As needed, you’ll be able to receive medication assisted treatment and additional medical and mental health care. They are also able to link you to community recovery support groups.
Most women stay an average of 30-60 days. I found it nice that when you complete the program, they will provide you recommendations for continuing care.
